A few years ago, a friend of mine named Bob Smith gave me a 1979 Yamaha IT250F. It was in need of more time than I could give it at the time so it sat in the shed. Last Summer I rebuilt the

shed and while cleaning it out I rediscovered the old bike. In the Fall I decided to see if it would run. I dismantled the carburator, cleaned it and reassembled it. When I opened the petcock on

the gas tank, the carb leaked like it had a hole in it. The bike fired and ran though, so I decided over the Winter I would restore it.

There was a nice mouse nest in the air box that went all the way to the caburator. Many years of grease, oil and dirt caked on this thing.

No seat cover and the plastic was in real bad shape.

All torn down to the frame.

Here the frame is all wire brushed and sanded, and after some gloss black paint.

The engine is painted and reset into the frame. Front forks, headlight, number plate and most of the wiring.
